OUR ADVICE: While not one of our
favorite tours, it has a rock bottom price for
those on a budget, and allows you to see some
of the nice spots south of Puerto Vallarta in
only half a day. There is
a pretty fair amount of shopping on this tour...husbands beware!
If you don't like shopping, we recommend you
choose a different tour.

CITY AND TROPICAL TOUR
If you have never been to Puerto Vallarta
before, this little tour is a nice
introduction to some of the sights.
While Puerto Vallarta is not a historical
hub so to speak, our city sightseeing tour
will give you a quick overview of what
Puerto Vallarta looks like, a chance for a
little bit of shopping, some very nice
tropical scenery, and a taste of the local
flavor. Our special open-air buses
help with taking photos too!
We'll start out with a drive down the famous
boardwalk, or malecon, and get a look
at some of the many statues lining the
water, such as the whale statue and the sea
horse statue, popular photo opportunities.
We'll visit the main points of interest such as
El Palacio Municipal (City Hall), the main
plaza and other city
landmarks, such as the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora
de Guadalupe (the Church of Our Lady of
Guadalupe), Gringo Gulch, and the flea
market area.
The next stop is the Marino & Marino jewelry
store, where you can see some of Puerto
Vallarta's famous gemstones, silver, and
other locally produced specialties.
Leaving Vallarta, we continue south along the
Bay and up to the residential zone of Conchas
Chinas, and then we stop for a photo op to enjoy
the wonderful view overlooking Los Arcos and
the town of Mismaloya, famous for the filming
of “The Night of the Iguana” starring
Richard Burton. Here you an also
browse a selection of Mexican handicrafts.
Stop at Puerto Vallarta's only government
certified tequila factory, where you will
learn about the process by which tequila is
made, how to drink tequila like a Mexican,
and will have a chance to taste different
varieties you never knew existed like
flavored tequilas, for example.
We continue high into the subtropical rain
forest of the Sierra Madre, where we'll make
a 2 hour stop at famous El Eden restaurant.
El Eden sits on the location of the Arnold
Schwarzenegger movie, Predator.
Here you can eat lunch from the menu, or
order drinks from the bar. You can
also swim in the cool fresh waters below the
waterfall, swing on Tarzan's vine into the
water, and walk an 80 meter suspension
bridge for some great photos.
