BOTANICAL GARDENS
Nearly a quarter-mile high
in the glorious Sierra Madre mountain range,
about 12 Miles (19 km) south of Puerto Vallarta,
lies the beautiful Puerto Vallarta Botanical
Gardens, where you'll find over 3,000 different
species of plants native to Southwestern Mexico.
You'll witness such exciting
features as the Carnivorous Plant Collection,
the beauty of the Rose Garden, the fragile Orchid
House, the lush Palm Garden and Tree Fern Grotto,
and the prized Mexican Agave Gardens, as you
walk the Jungle Trails, watching for tropical
birds that inhabit the gardens year round.
You'll likely even spot the resident parrots
that make their home here.
Enjoy a delicious lunch (optional)
at the beautiful on-site Plantation-House restaurant,
featuring panoramic scenic views and such delicacies
as wood-fired pizza, then travel to the Crispin
Tequila Factory, where you can taste locally-made
tequila, straight from the distillery, and learn
about the distillation process of Mexico's national
drink, before returning to your hotel to download
your camera, full of photos from your day in
the Botanical Gardens of Puerto Vallarta.
