This is the real deal - you'll be certified to scuba dive in open water anywhere in the world to 60 feet by PADI, the world's largest and most respected diving organization.  What better place to get certified than Puerto Vallarta where the water is warm and there are lots of fun things to see! Once you're certified as an Open Water Diver, you can do any of our scuba diving trips, dive back home when you return, or on any future vacation anywhere! 

The expert PADI instructors at the PADI 5-Star Puerto Vallarta School of Diving will work with you to teach you the fundamentals of scuba diving, first in the swimming pool, then in open water, to make sure you are ready to dive for real.  Once you're ready, you'll make 4 open water training dives over 2 days, after which you'll be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver.

Cruise Passengers: Sorry, this This is a multi-day course, so is not a good option for a cruise excursion.

Runs: Daily, on your schedule.

Duration: 3 days

Itinerary: Day 1 - Introduction, Confined Water (Pool) Sessions.  Day 2 - Your first two open water training Sessions.  Day 3 - Two more open water training Sessions.  Bang! You're certified!

Not Included:   Mandatory eLearning Course ($174.00) is paid by credit card online at the time of registration.  This discount price is only available through us, so make sure to contact us first, not PADI. eLearning must be completed online prior to the first day of your course.

You'll Need:

Kids:  Ages 10 and up.  Kids age 10-14 will receive a Junior Open Water Diver Certification.  Kids 10-11 years will only be certified to dive with a parent or divemaster and up to depths of 40 feet (12m).  After turning 15 years old, kids can upgrade to a full open water certification by simply paying a registration fee and getting a new PADI card.

Departs From: Dive Offices in Marina Vallarta. Detailed meeting instructions will accompany your confirmation.

Requirements:  All participants will be required to fill out a PADI medical questionnaire prior to diving.  If you will answer "Yes" to any of the questions, you will need a note from your doctor clearing you to dive in order to participate in this course.  This is a PADI requirement, so all PADI certified dive shops require the same form.

Continue Diving:  Advanced Open Water Certification or Do Some More Scuba Diving!

OUR ADVICE: Do your classroom studies back home and choose the referral course here in Puerto Vallarta to maximize your vacation time.


1) No alcohol before diving
2) No hangovers
3) No flying for at least 24 hours after diving
4)  All participants are required to fill out a Medical Questionnaire prior to diving.  If you will answer yes to any of the listed items, you will need to bring a note from your doctor clearing you to scuba dive.  This is a standard PADI form used by all PADI dive shops worldwide. Please review it prior to booking to determine if you will need to visit your doctor prior to your trip.
