If you have never been to Puerto Vallarta before, this little tour is a nice introduction to this beautiful city. While Puerto Vallarta is not a historical hub so to speak, our city sightseeing tour will give you a quick overview of what Puerto Vallarta looks like, a chance for a little bit of shopping, some very nice tropical scenery, and a taste of the local flavor.


We'll start at Marina Vallarta and work our way south with a drive down the famous boardwalk, or malecon, and get a look at some of the many statues lining the water, such as the sea horse statue, and other popular photo opportunities. We'll visit the main points of interest such as El Palacio Municipal (City Hall), the main plaza and other city landmarks, such as the Iglesia de Nuestra Seora de Guadalupe (the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe), and the flea market area.


Leaving Vallarta, we continue south along the Bay and up to the residential zone of Conchas Chinas, and then we stop for a photo op to enjoy the wonderful view overlooking Los Arcos and the town of Mismaloya, famous for the filming of "The Night of the Iguana" starring Richard Burton. Here you can also browse a selection of Mexican handicrafts.


Stop at a tequila factory, where you will learn about the process by which tequila is made, how to drink tequila like a Mexican, and will have a chance to taste different varieties you never knew existed like flavored tequilas, for example. Here you will also taste some exquisite lunch if you decide to take the Add-On, which we totally recommend!


Cruise Passengers: Yes! This tour makes a great shore excursion. Cruise passengers will be back at the cruise terminal at around 4:40 PM.

Runs: Daily at 10:10 AM. Exact pick-up time will vary depending on the location of your hotel, but will be specified on your ticket.

Nimo(Driver) and Miguel(Guide) were both great - helpful to find our group in the large terminal. Answered all of our questions. Mike gave passionate and detailed information about PVs culture and history which we loved. I think a nice balance of time driving, walking and on our own. My only suggestion would be about the van - it was lovely accommodations, but the folks sitting in the last 2 rows could not hear or see anything. We kept trying to rotate seats but it was sad to miss part of the sights when sitting in the back. I also want to give a bit thanks to Rose who set up both our tours - she was so responsive and helpful - a true pleasure to work with!

We took the City and Canopy tour today.  I have to say it was the worst tour I have ever had in 25 years of coming to Puerto Vallarta.  The van was filthy inside, the air conditioning vents were broken, and we could barely see out of the windows because there were hand prints and stuff splashed on the inside of them.  If a tour has that much time in the van, it should be comfortable and clean.  The van sounded like the rear shocks were out and every time we hit a bump it felt like a metal rod was shoved up my rear. It was a miserable ride.  We could not hear our driver with all the noise in the back. The description of the tour made it sound like we would have more time than 20 minutes to explore downtown Puerto Vallarta.  The only places we had more time was where YOU wanted us to spend our money (jewelry store, tequila tasting, and Eden).  Today was a waste of 0 dollars!  It was a very disappointing day.
