COPPER CANYON TOUR
The Copper Canyon region
is truly one of the Western Hemisphere's great
scenic and cultural journeys. This geographical
landmark is full of breathtaking sites - extreme
vertical drops, caves, forests, and gorges.
This incredible 3-day adventure from Puerto
Vallarta will blow you away.
Day 1: A spectacular
scenic flight will take you over the entire
length of the Copper Canyon flying over mountain
valleys surrounded by pine forests, before stopping
at the town of Creel, known as the "Gateway
to Copper Canyon."
This region is home to one of Mexico's largest
and most primitive tribes, the Tarahumara Indians,
who have lived here since long before the Spaniards
arrived in the early 16th century.
We will spend some time exploring the rustic
settlement of Cusárare and its majestic 98'
waterfall, before returning to Creel for the
night.
Day 2: A brief bus
ride will take you to the town of Divisadero,
which is located on the rim of the Urique Canyon,
where you can enjoy panoramic views of the valley
floor 7,000 feet below, or hike into the canyon.
Then, you'll take a ride on the scenic Copper
Canyon railway, one of the most awe-inspiring
rides in the Western Hemisphere, as you drop
8,000 feet through 70 tunnels into the town
of El Fuerte, a tropical paradise, where you'll
stay the night.
Day 3: Take a guided
tour through the cobblestone streets of El Fuerte,
founded in 1564, and the ruins of the Spanish
fort built in 1610. Experience some of Mexico's
best birdwatching before taking the final scenic
flight home to Puerto Vallarta. This is truly
a scenic marvel that you'll never forget.
